Layer Birds
Layer birds are raised in the poultry farms for the commercial production for eggs. An 18-19 weeks old layer chicken or hen may start laying eggs and can continue to do it till the age of 70-80 weeks.
Generally we find two types of layer chicken; first one is white egg laying hens and the second is brown egg laying hens. White egg hen is smaller than the brown one, consumes less food and produce relatively smaller eggs than brown.
